Having been assigned to the Homicide Unit with the Miami Police Department for over 20 years, Dr. Nelson Andreu, served as a Homicide Detective, Cold Case Detective, Homicide Supervisor, and Acting Homicide Commander during his homicide tenure. With over 42 years of law enforcement experience, 25 years with the Miami Police Department and 17 years with the West Miami Police Department, Dr. Andreu has vast experience in all aspects of policing, and especially homicide related investigations.  Retiring in 2020 as the Chief of Police with the West Miami Police Department, Dr. Andreu brings not only homicide experience, but a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of law enforcement, including the management of a police agency.
